FAQs

Understanding Safe & Sound Protocol

Our at home Safe Sound Protocol music therapy helps retune your child's sensitive nervous system, promoting lasting emotional regulation, deeper connection, and calmer days.

What exactly is the Safe Sound & Protocol?

How does at home Safe Sound Protocol work?

Who can benefit from SSP Music therapy?

Developed by neuroscientist Dr. Stephen Porges, the SSP is a non-invasive, five-hour auditory therapy that works using specially filtered music to stimulate the vagus nerve and calm the nervous system, helping individuals build greater capacity to navigate everyday stress and feel more calm, connected, and engaged.

The listener listens to therapeutically filtered music through a dedicated listening therapy app using comfortable, over-ear headphones.

Your program director provides a listening plan with custom-paced listening sessions several days a week until the entire 5 hours of music is completed.

It is highly beneficial for children (or adults) experiencing anxiety, trouble focusing, sensory processing challenges, worry, frequent meltdowns, or difficulty connecting with others in daily life.

It is also helpful for people with ADHD, Autism, OCD, history of Trauma, Depression, and Hyperactivity.

The only things you need to begin are a smartphone and a pair of over-ear headphones (non-noise-canceling)!

We know how hard it can be to find help for your struggling child. Our goal is to make the Safe Sound Protocol as affordable and accessible to as many people as possible!
