What is Primitive Reflex Integration?
Primitive reflexes are automatic movement patterns that serve to support early development.
Primitive reflexes develop in utero and are present in babies at birth. As a child’s nervous system matures, these reflexes are supposed to integrate and mature into voluntary patterns of movement. However, when primitive reflexes remain active or are insufficiently integrated, children often experience challenges with areas such as learning, attention, coordination, balance, posture, motor planning etc.
